You’ll have worked out by now that my name is Fiona Gilfillan.
I live in Tranent, East Lothian and have problems filtering my hobbies list. There are so many things to do in life, and I refuse to choose between my interests. I am a woodturner, upcycler, upholsterer, DIY attempter, furniture restorer, scuba diver, scone eater, cyclist, motorcyclist, flyfisher, caravanner….what else have I forgotten?
I’m a graduate of Edinburgh University, but that was a long time ago.
I have a workshop in Port Seton where I hammer out (literally) things I want to make or fix. One day it might be scaffold furniture, the next I might be making a lamp or turning a bowl. I have picked up my skills from various sources, most recently via short courses at the Chippendale School in East Lothian.
So – it helps to write it down somewhere and to take pictures as I go along so I remember what the blazes I’ve done with myself as time whooshes by.
This is me.
